it's not bec. i was born in 1969, or because my pontiac was the best sports car i ever had, but i'm just glad that you had the time in your life that you can look back and say, wow what a life... i love this song forever as it brings back some memories.

This song was not out yet, but I grew up in the 60s and 70s and had there 8 track and we use to ride around in my 1976 Pontiac Grand LeMans with a factory 8 track, boy I giving my age away. We had the windows down blasting American. What a great time in my life.

I first heard this song while dining in a Chinese Restaurant back in 2004. I dont know why I hadnt heard it before but it took such a hold of me that I went out and looked up Google search engine and brought the cd that same day and listened to it all night !!
