About This Grand Canyon Fan
We left the Bright Angel Campground around 530am and headed up the Bright Angel Trail out of the Grand Canyon on June 30, 2009. The hike was 9.6 miles and 8,000 in elevation. It took us about 6 of the most intense and grueling hours of my life. By far the most physically, emotionally and mentally challenging things I've ever done. I came to near tears when we were done.

Totally possible to do Bright Angel in a day. Just gotta make sure that you get up mad early to do it.
Everyone says take 1 day down south Kaibab and two days up Bright Angel and stay over night half way up at Indian Gardens. From what it looks like you guys did, it is totally possible to go up Bright Angel in one day. What do you guys think?
Awesome. Enjoy!
Great footage guys1!! I have made this trek more than a few times and remember all too well the feeling of accomplishment when finishing. I must say you guys had your wind much better than I did each time I finished. I am planning another trek with my girlfriend soon and found your video because of that. Thanks so much for your video and respecting the canyon.
great video guys.
hiked it 7 yrs ago & am planning on another trek. enjoyed reliving the pain all over again thru your adventure.
I hiked down to the mesa point. Been on mules many times. Grand View Trail is the most difficult.
Yea I hear that. On the way up saw lots of families going too far down with little to no water.
I made it down to the 3rd rest stop and back last month... wow, it was pretty rough as I am a very, very novice hiker. It poured rain on the way back up and I packed enough food to feed a squad but at least I knew I was taken care of and helped out several people on the way. It's a fantastic hike but I suggest going down to the 2nd rest stop, not the 3rd if you're a novice like me.
great vid guys.....
I just hiked from Phantom Ranch to the North Rim and back in just over 13 hours. Not too bad ... just long. (28 miles)
It's recommended to go down the trails either really early in the morning or later in the evening. This way you aren't hiking when the sun is beating down on you. We got there in the morning, hung out, checked out the views from the top, ate and started to make our way down around 5-530.
I can imagine. There were some men that were doing that when we were down there. Pretty crazy.
Try phantom ranch to north rim in a day.. omg
Hiked Bright Angel Trail Aug. 5, 2010, A Vision Quest, Dad, 2 bros. and I flew up GC from Lake Mead to Page AZ. in 1970. Floated down Colorado back to Lake Mead. I was 13 y/o. Had to hike from the top to bottom to complete Trifecta. I am a carreer firefighter in real good shape and it kicked my A$#. Left the trailhead at 0930 and didnt get back up until 2200. I am 53 y/o, and I dont know if I would try it again, there were times that I thought that I would die. If you do try this hike, take a
Um, I dunno the exact measurements. That is possible.
Doesn't Bright Angel trail actually start at 2,500 feet and top out at 6,850 feet at the south rim?
i believe it.... few things are as breathtaking as the natural wonders of the world
Thanks. Awesome is an understatement though.
awesomeness bro!
It was like a 110 or so. One of the most intense and grueling things that I've ever done.
Crazy stuff! Thanks for posting the video. Man it must of been hot.
