Grand Canyon Tube

Obviously a photoshop (and rather poor one). The text describes him jumping from the rock after the sun had set, if the sun had set it would've been dark (or atleast darker) so why didn't the lighting change? Also when did the grand canyon become a wonder of the world? They've always been man-made things.
