My mother had an RCA console quadraphonic cabinet/record player. It was 8 feet long and had every kind of radio receiver you could imagine as well as a record player. This album selection that came with the console as well as some others. I remember when things were getting hectic, as they do in a house of 9 children, she would put this album on and let the entire set play one after the other until the last song. Everyone in the house would almost instantly calm down and listen. Quietly!

I am a percussionist with the Ambler, (Pa) Symphony. We recently played this piece. Very satisfying!

When I was young, my dad used to turn this section up really loud, to "scare" my sister and I. We loved it!

I have this recording on 78 rpm conducted by Andre Kostelanetz. It belonged to my uncle and it was recorded in the 1940's. Still plays great.

I first heard this at the Drive in in the late sixties early Seventies when we went to see the Battle of Britain Movie, as a boy age 14 to 16, in Western Australia, and have loved it ever since. Oddly some of the music for the dog fights had equally dramatic music, however this I have always sought out, first on record, and though I don't think I have it yet on CD. This I class up there with Ketalbey as an unheralded great, and a favourite to go with Peer Gynt.

I can't recall how many Saturdays my mother would put this album on while we were cleaning. Love it...

One of America's best "unknown" composers.

Thank you so much for this five-part posting. "On The Trail" is frequently played, but I have seldom heard the other movements. I hope you will have many more views for these wonderful videos.
