Well, I, for one, agree with you. Moved to Oregon and never looked back. And comments such as "good riddance" are the very reason I left. People in LA don't know how awful they are.

Also, the Pacific Palisades up to Mulhulland, and Santa Monica all the way over to like Griffith Park, I barely saw cops (except a bit in Hollywood). Was just there.

The crime rate has been dropping steadily since the early 90's in the LA metro area. Same story for many other cities in the US. (I study this stuff.)
