The Grand Canyon Railroad ran a double headed steam train on August 8th, 2006. Here is a clip of it leaving the Depot in Williams, AZ. Check my three other videos for the rest of the trip to the canyon

I bet someone got Deaf :l
@Jazzyhorn111 I do the same thing! The sound of a steam locomotive makes me so happy that I tear up to! Nice to know that I'm not alone on that.
I'm going against the grain but I think 29's whistle is perfect!
same here, 'bye bye toot toot bye bye'
29 should go to the rio grande scenic
The 4960's whistle is perfect!
It's a gritty, loud, creaky, disgusting noise......but it's beautiful.
love both engines #4960s whistle is great but #29s is disguisting i think that i honest to god hate high pitched whistles
classic
beautiful machine...thanx for this video... for all the train lovers in the world
There are rumours of a train in Switzerland (I think) that once ran a steam, diesel and electric triple header!
126 actually!
Yeah - for starters you need a separate crew for each one, whereas with diesels and electrics the other locomotive(s) can be remotely controlled from the lead one.
My 2 y o daughter loves this so much
The work will be completed, though. It is afact that steam will stick around. On a reduced scale yes, but still there.
Wish I could say that is so. It has run on special occasions and will run on this year's National Train day, but only 45 minute round trips. Although it received a brief extension, it is due for its FRA mandated boiler inspections and will not be running until the railroad completes any needed work.
#4960 is steaming againg, on a slightly more regular schedule
ive been on that it was amasing
